Hafsah Diakhate is a Project Manager and Advisor for CHI. She coordinates the operations of multiple organizations, all focused on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the healthcare field. With these organizations, she is actively elevating minority representation and accessibility at all levels of the industry. Hafsah graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in Neuroscience and French. She was a recipient of various research grants and scholarships, and spent her collegiate time working on various clinical neuroscience studies. Hafsah’s research interests stem from many neuroscientific and psychological bases, including the impact of chronic pain on the brain, mental disorders and their impact on functionality, and diversity in healthcare. Currently, Hafsah is a Clinical Research Coordinator at Seattle Children’s Research Institute within their Child Health, Behavior and Development department, where she manages multiple studies aimed towards helping children and adolescents ameliorate issues with chronic pain and sleep. In her free time, Hafsah enjoys yoga, creative writing, and traveling internationally.
