Dr. Cheryl Beal Anderson is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Regulatory Affairs Consulting, LLC (ACE RAC). Driven by a passion to address unmet medical needs for patients with limited therapeutic options, ACE RAC was established to collaborate with biopharma and biotech companies to strategize on accelerating product development. ACE RAC emphasizes having collaborative relations with regulatory agencies, knowledge of regulations, the adoption of decentralized clinical trials, and the inclusion of historically underrepresented patient groups in clinical trials.
With over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biopharma industries, Anderson has held pivotal roles in global regulatory affairs at companies such as Parke-Davis, Pfizer, Eli Lilly & Company, Lundbeck, LLC, and Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC, an affiliate of Sawai Pharmaceuticals in Osaka, Japan. As Senior Vice President and Global Head of Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, and Quality at Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC, Dr. Anderson led these critical areas to meet customer expectations, timely regulatory agency engagement, and professional development. Anderson’s extensive experience spans CNS, oncology, cardiovascular, rare/orphan disease designated products and generic drugs.
Before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry, Anderson was an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago including co-investigator of clinical trials.
Anderson is a Board member, Center for Healthcare Innovation. Anderson is scientific advisor for early-stage company founders and CEOs, including the Texas Medical Center Innovation Accelerator for Cancer Therapeutics, People Empowering People for Inclusion Now, and the Gulf Coast Consortium's REACH program.
Anderson also volunteers on the Texas Pharmacy Advisory Council, Stanford University Master’s in Clinical Information Management program. She is active in community service with The Links, Inc. Health and Human Services facet, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
Her academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University, an undergraduate pharmacy degree, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed an ASHP Accredited Residency in Psychiatric Clinical Pharmacy Practice and later earned an MBA in Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University’s Haub School of Business in Philadelphia, PA.
Anderson holds professional memberships in BioNTX, the Women Business Leaders in US Healthcare Foundation, HBA, Drug Information Association, and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society. Her accomplishments have been recognized by the MSP Business Journal as a 2021 Women in Business Honoree and the Eli Lilly & Company Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Rising Star Award.
