No, CHI is purely a non-profit organization.  It exists to serve the life sciences innovation community via thought leadership.

CHI's primary goal is to excercise thought leadership that increases the quality and quantity of innovation in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.

Yes, almost all of the existing centers, institutes, or organizations in the biopharma domain fall into one of five categories: (i) captive of a particular political or theoretical orientation, (ii) captive of a particular university, college, and/or faculty member, (iii) captive of a particular firm, industry, or industry group, (iv bureaucratic government funded entity, (v) vehicle for an individual or group’s for-profit consulting operation.  CHI is none of those, so it will fill a needed and unique market niche.

No, CHI will have a global focus.

 Yes, both individual and corporate memberships will be welcomed in the future, but CHI will not be a personal development organization for individuals or a trade association for the industry.
